Sitting in a cubicle was just not Dave’s style, as he longed to do something with his creativity and musical abilities. In 1998, Dave founded the award-winning national cover band Maggie Speaks. Maggie Speaks has performed in 15 different countries and 35 different states and now has 6 bands under their musical umbrella in Chicago and one based out of Scottsdale, AZ Collectively, they have performed at over 7,500 private and corporate events over the past 27 years.

In 2000, Dave founded Magnificent Events and Entertainment. He quickly established himself as one of the top event producers in the Chicagoland area, helping clients produce high quality events, securing top quality celebrity and professional entertainment and production for their events. Both In 2020, Both Maggie Speaks and Magnificent Events expanded west and opened offices in Scottsdale, AZ, creating a larger footprint to service their clients in the western region of the country. In 2020, Dave received the ILEA (International Live Event Association) Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the industry. He created a program with Maggie Speaks called Celebrity Sit-In where he regularly performs with members or former members of world famous bands like Rascal Flatts, Journey, Boston, Chicago the Eagles and more. He has created some of the most successful tribute bands in the country including, One of these Nights (Eagles Tribute), Gold Dust Dreams (Fleetwood Mac Tribute), The Brothers Gibb (Bee Gees Tribute), Simple Men and Southern Nights (Lynyrd Skynyrd and Southern Rock Tribute), Radio Gaga (Queen + Lady Gaga Production Show) and Tales From the Yacht (an acoustic duo with friend Greg Hind, formerly of Little River Band). 2025 will mark the release of Dave’s first full length original album, a collaboration with writing partners Jimmy Riley and Bill Hanson.
